Gazprom Export sues Uniper over contract gas prices
MOSCOW, Feb 14 (PRIME) -- Russian gas giant Gazprom has filed a lawsuit against Germany’s Uniper over revision of contract gas prices to an arbitration court, a Gazprom spokesperson told reporters on Wednesday.
“Gazprom Export confirms that it has sent a notification to company Uniper on the start of arbitration proceedings with a request to revise the gas price delivered under a contract to Uniper starting from February 1, 2018,” the official said.
According to the Gazprom official, claims to an arbitration court are a standard practice in this type of contracts.
Gazprom and E.On (the former name of Uniper) litigated over gas prices in 2014. In March 2015, the German company sent another claim on short supplies from September 2014 till March 2015. In 2016, the companies agreed on price revision and claim withdrawal.
